In 2007 Jörgen joined the Lucerne Festival Orchestra for the first time, a festival orchestra made up of many eminent musicians from around the world, at the personal invitation of it's legendary conductor Claudio Abbado. With this orchestra he performed Mahler's third symphony with the famous trombone solo for the first time. The concert was recorded live for television and a DVD of this event is now available.

The series of performances of the trombone concerto by James MacMillan with the orchestras that co-commissioned the work continues with concerts with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in February 2018 and the Orchestra of the Staatstheater Cottbus in March 2018.
